Since I commenced my Punting hobby, I have to confess most of my activity has been confined to Central London, largely for convenience’s sake due to work commitments, as time is short and I do not have much time for adventures further afield.
In my opinion, this is a real shame as there are several ladies I would like to meet, but they live in different areas so it has not been possible so far. Indeed, I have held back from seeing them as, for me, it is not just a case of meeting once. I do not like to see someone unless I am sure it is feasible to meet on a regular basis.
That said, a couple of the ladies I see on a regular basis do not live in London, but travel to the capital for meetings. Therefore, when it has not been possible to meet of late, I decided to rework my schedule a bit and hit the road.
There is a lot to be said for travelling to a new area. Firstly, as discretion is as important to me as I imagine it is to most Punters, visiting further afield affords one far greater privacy. Despite the anonymity of a large metropolis, I am forever bumping into people I know in the most incongruous of places in London.
Secondly, I feel it is important to make an effort and to match the commitment of a close friend, rather than always expecting her to do all of the travelling. This is particularly so as neither of the ladies in question works as an Escort full-time and they both have busy lives.
Another reason it has been good to get out of London is because it heightens the sense of adventure and helps to keep things fresh. Going to a new area and meeting somewhere else is a pleasant experience and I feel more recharged after “getting away from it all”, even if just for a few hours.
I know it is not always practical and it requires a greater degree of planning, but I would encourage others to make the effort if there is a lady you would particularly like to see. There is an added appreciation if one makes a greater effort and you can regard a day out as more of a treat to yourself.
There is also another important consideration for us “townies”, particularly those who inhabit London. I have lived in London all my life and I feel I am, therefore, well qualified to give this observation. There is a real danger of becoming London-centric, namely thinking everything happens within the confines of the M25 and nothing of any value ever happens beyond its boundaries! I hear colleagues saying as much on a way too regular basis!
If they wish to be blinkered, that is up to them. However, I would encourage the more open-minded amongst you to consider what you are missing! There are so many wonderful people who are not in London, or do not travel here on business, so imagine what you are missing?! If like me, you value plenty of variety in your life and you adore accents too, nothing broadens one’s horizons more than meeting people from different backgrounds and different areas.
You may be fortunate enough to travel through work and this may afford you the opportunity for some “regional delicacies”, but, if like me, you are shackled to your desk, why not take full advantage of some free time for some inter-city fun?
